Cancellation Terms and Refund Policy

Note: The product will remain in the business until all installments are fully paid

1. Cancellation Terms

1.1 Customer-Initiated Cancellation

  • The customer may cancel the LIPA Mdogo agreement at any time before full payment is made.
  • Cancellation must be communicated through a phone call to the business during working hours, followed by a written email confirmation sent within 24 hours of the call.
  • Upon cancellation, the customer shall be entitled to a refund of all installments paid, less a flat administrative fee of KES 500.
  • No cash refunds will be issued under any circumstances. Any approved refund will be processed electronically, using the same mobile money account or bank account originally used by the customer to pay the deposit and subsequent installments.
  • The refund will be processed within 7 calendar days of receiving both the call and written confirmation.

1.2 Expiry of Payment Period

  • If the customer fails to complete the installment payments within one (1) calendar month after the agreed LIPA Mdogo period ends, the agreement will be considered automatically canceled.
  • In such cases, the customer will be refunded the total amount paid, less KES 500, and the product will be returned to stock.
  • No extensions shall be granted unless explicitly agreed in writing before the expiry date.

2. Refund Policy

2.1 Customer-Initiated Refunds

  • Refunds following customer-initiated cancellations are subject to a flat administrative deduction of KES 500.
  • The refund will cover the total amount paid by the customer, minus this fee.
  • All refunds will be made via electronic means only (e.g., M-PESA or bank transfer).
  • No refunds will be issued in cash, regardless of the amount.
  • The refund will be completed within 7 calendar days from the date the cancellation is confirmed via both call and follow-up email.

2.2 Business-Initiated Refunds

  • In cases where the business cancels the LIPA Mdogo due to product discontinuation, stock issues, or internal decisions, the customer will be entitled to a full refund without any deductions.
  • The refund will be processed electronically.
  • The customer will receive a notification by phone call confirming that the refund has already been issued.
  • No written consent is required from the customer in such instances.

2.3 No Refund After Collection

  • Once the product has been fully paid for and collected, no refund will be issued unless the product is defective or covered under a separate warranty agreement.
  • LIPA Mdogo refunds are strictly limited to the LIPA Mdogo period and do not extend into post-purchase product returns.
